John Hassall & The April Rainers will headline The Record Factory, Glasgow in May
THE Libertines bassist John Hassall is set to take his new project on tour for the first time, stopping off in Glasgow on Friday 12th May.
Promoting their debut album Wheels To Idyll, the English quartet will treat audiences to tracks like ‘Intercity 125’ and ‘Given Time’.
With songs that smack of summer coupled with the jangly riffs and deep bass we’ve grown accustomed too with The Libertines, The April Rainers will release their maiden LP in March.
Wheels To Idyll was produced by Kalle Guatafsson and recorded at his “analogue haven” Svenske Grammofon Studion in Gothenburg, Sweden.
John said: “Much of the album is about travelling to the country to see my granny as a child.
“It might not be a very rock ’n’ roll subject matter, but I reckon you can still make good pop songs out of it.
“For example ‘Ladybird… Waiting’ is about being a child and having a silent conversation with a ladybird in her garden ‘you’ll find that I am willing and I’m able, so go ahead and fly up on the table.'”
John Hassall & The April Rainers will play The Record Factory, Glasgow on Friday 12th May.
Tickets available from £7 via Skiddle.
