Catholic Action will tour the UK on the back of their new AA single ‘Rita Ora’ / ‘Breakfast’
THE Glasgow four-piece have been building up a reputation in Scotland, since their formation in 2014, as a burgeoning DIY pop-rock band. They will now embark on an autumn UK tour to spread their sound.
The tour will see Catholic Action showcase new AA single ‘Rita Ora’ / ‘Breakfast’, alongside old favourites like ‘L.U.V’, to audiences in London, Manchester and hometown Glasgow amongst others.
Released on Luv Luv Luv Records, ‘Rita Ora’ is an immediate indie pop masterpiece with shimmering guitar riffs and enchanting vocals that echo “Rita, Rita, Rita, hey Rita!” And yes ‘Rita Ora’ is about the London singer of the same name. A fact which she seems quite happy to endorse, tweeting the band her appreciation not long ago.
‘Breakfast’ is slightly more brooding and heavy, but with the same, instantly recognisable, woozy guitar and vocal sections.
As a AA single ‘Rita Ora’ / ‘Breakfast’ is perfect: it offers the listener light and shade, catchy melodies, brooding rhythm and bass sections and everything that makes Catholic Action one of the most exciting and talked about bands coming out of Glasgow’s DIY scene right now.
