The track features samples from Paolo Nutini’s 2014 album Caustic Love and Lonnie Holley
AMERICAN indie-folk band Bon Iver yesterday released their latest single ’33 “GOD”‘ from forthcoming album 22, A Million.
Heavy on high-pitched synth, piano, and distorted samples from Paolo Nutini’s ‘Iron Sky’ and ‘All Rendered Truth’ by Lonnie Holley, ’33 “GOD”‘ sees Bon Iver enter a new dawn.
It’s been 5 years since Justin Vernon and co gave us Bon Iver, Bon Iver and 2007’s For Emma really does now seem forever ago.
The band’s new material promises to be more experimental and out there, whilst still maintaining Vernon’s clever songwriting and heartfelt lyrics at the core.
If ’33 “GOD”‘ is anything to go by, new Bon Iver will be laden with samples and ethereal sounds. More Kanye anyone?
22, A Million will be released on Friday 30th September.
