FLATBUSH Zombies have dropped a brand new, free to download, song ‘RedEye To Paris’ featuring none other than London’s own Skepta. Is this yet another sign that grime is about to take over?
The stream of new releases from Flatbush Zombies has continued with brand new tune ‘RedEye To Paris’. Recorded while on tour in Paris and produced on their tour bus ‘RedEye To Paris’ is a classic Flatbush Zombies tune. Haunting piano and trap influenced boom bap drums, a signature move from Flatbush Zombies member Eric ‘The Architect’ Elliot and once again his production is absolutely on point, the perfect place for all four MCs to spit some serious fire.
Eric Arc Elliot kicks things off laying down not only the catchy hook but an undeniably savage verse as well, dancing over his own production with absolute ease. Juice follows up with an equally impressive verse with his signature high pitched voice cutting through the beat like a hot knife through butter. Meechy Darko is on point (when is he not?) spitting flames, the beat suits him down to the ground.
However, for me, this song is all about Skepta, the current pioneer and leader of the grime scene jumps in, completely unfazed, spitting the hardest bars in the whole song. For me the most exciting bit of the song is Skepta declaring he’s dropping his new album Konnichiwa very soon, I literally cannot wait for this album!
