Sam Smith and John Legend Combine for Special Version of ‘Lay Me Down’ For Red Nose Day 2015

PRETTY much says it all in the title, but Sam Smith has brought in John Legend to create a special version of his song ‘Lay Me Down’ from his stellar debut album In The Lonely Hour which came out last year. A special collaboration born out of the huge charity event in the UK, Red Nose Day, a part of the excellent charity Comic Relief.

While ‘Lay Me Down’ wasn’t one of my favourite songs from In The Lonely Hour this duet is incredibly powerful, simply a piano and two wonderful vocalists singing their hearts out. Both performers are on great form, Smith’s typically epic and stunning vocals beginning the track, shortly joined by the equally impressive John Legend. Both perfectly compliment each others styles, breathing new life into an old song!

More importantly though is their support for Comic Relief and Red Nose Day which takes place this Friday the 13th. Dedicated to eliminating global poverty you can find all the information you need right here. So get donating!
