#SundaySoundtrack #21

THE ultimate #SundaySoundtrack has returned for its 21st edition to help you subdue those hangover blues. As always we aim to deliver a cracking list of tunes that we’ve been enjoying this week to help lift those hangover spirits and make you forget that Monday is just around the corner.

Will Shipley

Dizzee Rascal – ‘Pagans’

Having gone down the more commercial route over the past few years, Dizzee Rascal the father of grime, returned last year with a bang dropping his two-song Pagans EP. The title track ‘Pagans’ is pure filth, Dizzee spitting fire and condemning the MTV modern generation. Just let this beat take over and feel your head nod to this beast of a track. The video is absolute class as well, ninjas and Dizzee being Dizzee.

Chris Costello

Martin Luke Brown – ‘Nostalgia’

Alternative pop mixed with elements of soul and acoustic, ‘Nostalgia’ represents those genres perfectly. With thoughtful lyrics, an A+ vocal performance and clever arrangement, the tracks instrumentation gives the track the necessary grip.

Jonah Shipley

Eryka Badu – ‘In Love With You’

I rinsed this track last summer, and since the sun is out today it’s straight back on. This is my favourite track from her album Mama’s Gun. Badu always creates that perfect laid back vibe in her tracks, when Stephen Marley is thrown into the mix it was always going to be special. Stop what you’re doing, put this on and enjoy a true musical talent. You can also find an amazing remix by Mala titled ‘In Luv‘ on YouTube.

Barney Greenish

Cut Capers – ‘Face In The Crowd’

This release from the Bristol ska/hip-hop outfit features their signature quick firing rap lines, catchy choruses and big brass instrumentals but the three combine for a distinctly darker sound than usual. Lyrics speak about the problems of trying to stand out in the world as life rolls ever forward.

Toby Gebbie

Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs – ‘Garden’

What a song this is. The weather has made a bit of a change in the UK and it suddenly feels like we are creeping slowly towards summer. The subtle and catchy beat really takes this feeling and amplifies it. Bring on the summer.

Calum Woodger

Arcade Fire – ‘No Cars Go’

This anthemic indie wonder has atmosphere by the bucket load. From the Canadian six-piece’s second album Neon Bible, it honestly sticks in my mind as a great tune by them because it was in an old version of FIFA! Use it to kickstart your Sunday.

Peter Sullivan

The Magician feat. Years and Years – ‘Sunlight (Elephante Remix)’

If you’re still feeling a bit rough from the night before, or if you just wanna get psyched up to an all new level, then this is the track for you! An absolutely massive remix of The Magician’s tune by Elephante has had me mashing the replay button all week, and I’m sure it’ll do the same to you – check it out and let us know your thoughts!

That’s it from us here at The Music Brewery, let us know what would make your #SundaySoundtrack this week!
