J Hud and Iggy Plus Pharrell On The Beat…Interesting

The multi-talented Jennifer Hudson aka JHUD is back and currently gearing up for the release of her third studio album JHUD releasing on the 23rd of September.

It’s shaping up to quite an effort with production coming from the likes of Timbaland and Pharrell Williams, it’s got me excited to see what sort of direction she is going to take with this album whether she sticks to her tried and tested methods or mixes it up with some new.

After listening to this track He Ain’t Going Nowhere feat. Iggy Azalea I’m impressed in what is clearly a change of direction for Hudson. The track is more upbeat and almost disco like, it’s not quite straight up dance but more like a soul filled dance track, seeing as it was produced by Pharrell it’s unsurprising that this was the route they went for. With Pharrell’s chart topping successes in GIRL and of course his contributions to Daft Punk’s Random Access Memories that both had a heavy 70’s and disco vibe to them. I’m pleased to say that it is a success and no doubt a future star in the charts, the funky feel to the beat accompained by the typically stunning vocals from Jennifer Hudson is great. She has also nabbed possibly the biggest success of the summer in Iggy Azalea who has killed this summer with Fancy amongst other tunes, and it does well to break up the song a bit and add a different dimension to He Ain’t Going Nowhere.

The excitement is building for JHUD and if this is anything to go by I have no doubt it will be a great album. Give it a listen, like and a share!
